Open Your Heart and Mind!

IMG_2207If you tell yourself something long enough you’ll believe it! If you don’t take the time to question yourself concerning why you do what you do, you’ll think what you’re doing is all you can do and it’s the correct thing to do! Even your irrational behavior will be seen as rational by you and maybe only you! People have a habit of telling others who they are and who they aren’t. Truth is they don’t even know themselves but claim to know you. If you buy into this crap you’ll end up lost, unable to be yourself and you’ll become something else for a period of time putting yourself in darkness, away from the light of the real you.

How can you be you and satisfy others? What do you expect of you? How can you be you and have others love, honor and respect you?

When happy with yourself and in a joyful place, you’ll be living without feeling guilty and please others freely. You’re comfortable and know your self worth and feel no need to always win, be right or in control. When you’re loving and you open your heart and allow people to see exactly who you are, you’ll attract more people than you know what to do with. People will pour into your life and want to be in your presence and enjoy your positive energy!

But if you choose to always have to be right, in control, judging, offering excuses for your irrational behavior, staying closed and not open to the new. You may never discover who you are and become stuck being someone you weren’t meant to be! Open your heart and mind, there you can discover you!

  1. Its a PERFECTLY a WOOOWWW!!!
    Love it A LOT!
You got all the words really straight to the points.

Have a very wonderful and joyful day… always!

    • One word “WOW”

  2. This is so true: People have a habit of telling others who they are and who they aren’t. Truth is they don’t even know themselves but claim to know you.

  3. I have finally learned that I can not be in control of everything and everyone. It was hard, but I learned to let that feeling and need to control go. I also learned that I DO NOT have to have the last word and say in things. When I realized that…I felt a sense of relief to let go and let God. I do not JUDGE because I always remind myself of the scripture “get the plank out of your own eyes before you get the plank out of your eyes”

    Thanks for sharing!

    • That’s what I’m talking about!

  4. Getting into MY head can be a scary place sometimes LOL, but it’s the only way to really understand who I am, why I do the things that I do(good and bad)and what steps I need to take to improve myself. Life is a constant growing process; we’re either growing more spiritually rich, or more spiritually lean. Thanks for the reminder as to what I gotta do to help me to be where I wanna be! ♥

  5. Great topic! This is something that I’ve been struggling with for years. I am getting there a lil more each day. This one is a positive reminder to keep moving towards being a positive person. ((HUGS))

  6. Beautifully stated Milo..Knowing who you are and who’s you are is the key to first being comfortable with self…Then you can be comfortable with others…
Thanks my brother for always being on point.!!!

  7. THANKS FOR SHARING THAT ARTICLE. I AGREE TOTALLY THAT EACH OF US MUST KNOW WHO WE ARE AND THAT HAPPINESS IS AN INSIDE JOB. WE CANNOT TRANSMIT WHAT WE DO NOT HAVE. IT IS LIKE TELLING ME WHAT A BROKE LEG FEELS LIKE WHEN YOU HAVE NEVER FELT THE PAIN.GLAD TO HAVE A CHANCE TO COMMUNICATE WITH LIFE AND SELF. IAM STILL GROWING.

  8. Positive energy flows from within when you know who you are in Christ and outwardly affects those who are in your company. Secondly, when you respect yourself, others do not have’t to question who you are, there is a KNOWING…. When your heart and mind is open, satisfaction comes from being able to utilize the gift that was given.

  9. Good Morning Milo!
Hope your morning and day is going good. Ok, love the pic of the beautiful African American man…just love it.

You know, we have a saying in my family when a member of my family gets beside themselves…you know, a little emotional and it takes off from there. The saying is, “Go with the flow.” It seems to calm things down a bit…they give you this starry look, but for the most part, it calms everything down.

So true Milo, when in a judging or just plain bad energy, it attracts more of it in your life. Now, to feel happy and give out happiness takes knowing yourself…breaking barriers with your inner you. It takes alot of work, but in the end, it is so worth it, to be your true and authentic you. The one God sent here to complete your mission of service to make our home a better place.

Love you Milo…Thank you for stirring in us the need to look at ourselves from so many different angles.

    Love, Peace, Light

  10. Milo,
I needed to “hear” this one today. Thanks.

  11. WOW!!!! That was EXCELLENT Milo…Well said my friend, well said…………..CYD

  12. Thanks for providing a hearty breakfast for the day, bruh! There’s not much I can add to what you said other than, the lies some people tell themselves and others eventually form a persona that contradict the very characteristics they say they’re not… “show me who you are and I’ll believe you everytime”.

    Thanks for sharing, sweetie!

  13. Milo…ALL TRUE! And once fully understood and lived life becomes a mosaic of magical moments that are absolutely Xhilarating. Lots of “SISTAH POWER” Love, Deborah

  14. When I was little, I remember at every affair, always ending up playing at the “old folks” feet. Listening to them reminisce about their younger days. Always so very glad to see each and every family member as they arrived – truly joyful to see them – no matter what the latest family gossip may have been about them – all that was important was that they were loved and appreciated. And I remember an aunt that used to jump around like a jumping bean, hollering about what this one or that one needed to do, trying to control all the people in her life that she felt were making all the wrong decisions. Always there in the background would be the “old folks” of the family just sitting back, listening and watching and giving their advice only when asked. None of her “jumping and fussing” ever did a bit of good except maybe to make the very people she was trying to control, dig their heels in deeper toward the “wrong” decisions. I liked the old folks way of reacting to people so I took on their ways and remembered their soft spoken but direct wisdom. As a result, my family knows they can come to me knowing they will not be judged or lectured. It’s not always easy – sometimes you feel like “jumping and fussing” but at these times – I remember my aunt and how she died in her early 60’s – leaving no immediate family behind as there was none – never having really truly lived and enjoyed her life as she spent so much time living other people’s lives and for all the fussing, never having come to know and enjoy herself, never really having ever been heard….

  15. AWESOME,AWESOME,AWESOME
